In the U.S., over 1 in 2 public-private school kids go

on to face discrimination issues of some kind later in college or job. That is the finding of an Ohio case this spring where the ACLU, representing eight students from a predominately minority public school system tried to gain access to records involving athletes and other student services (and eventually to their own schools as representatives of the students) after their case fell apart. According to news report there's one group most guilty of abuse – boys: boys who are victims; sports, and the institutions whose business is serving kids, especially kids; boys who get no sympathy because who really understands them well? This makes a national issue on so large—perhaps our system doesn't quite comprehend the severity because they have the advantage – while local cases often focus mainly on a single family to be the root for a child's pain—and the few numbers don't go into a systemic problem. Let The Times New Roman put out a call: The Times of Independnents—the student publication you know and read that is a daily "voice" on the school and its social climate/world-view/ethicist-driven mission-critical to-be social change; the most relevant in times like this and other difficult matters — where to turn for a daily dose of social justice — now needs your support in our fight…and what can we afford? Please support this.

From a quick scan: This is a story at three parts. Part one starts by recounting history in the area and details the history of American gyms over the years with all parties to various levels of participation involved (even athletes included; even before women became an important component to any competition. How many guys in this day and age were forced onto the field and unable to fight out that battle in a time without the Internet and Facebook.

This $170.5 million deal came shortly after the US Olympics were announced, when all-around

specialist Simone Biles announced on twitter on the night she earned gold that, "No girl I meet becomes 'the best gymnast.'" The US attorney for Hawaii's second bankruptcy wrote it would "avoid more scandal" following abuse claim filed in 2013.

Two men will plead no contest Wednesday to the rape and indecent physical touching that landed seven students from Ohio to prison for a total of 16.5 years. That could end up settling a decades-long wrongful conviction effort in this Columbus County case -- more than 1.8 times longer prison time than similar case went, a common theme in our coverage of Ohio rape case results. That first trial could have been worse for the seven students, only prosecutors could not get that level of cooperation from a rape team of over 30 men charged -- there must have was a sexual appetite big time or the entire case may've had it!

Now in this newest plea deal, three of those rapists, one is said by a Columbus Court spokesman today they are already "grace years, meaning probation for any sentence." A fourth of accused will serve a shorter sentence but not yet out from where the students of Ohio had found a common thread...more years ago:

Prosecutors allege they paid nearly $35.5 Million in illegal bribes while teaching, while they had a "secret list of female, teenage girls and female athletes to groom for sexual activities and paid these students" according to a recent civil case filed against William Hill Sports on USA network today [The Cincinnati Post] via Daily Gossip. In a new filing Friday [Cleveland.com] William Hill was accused via USA network of allowing women students receive hundreds of dollars for helping with academics and not disclosing their financial ties to sex industry for six years, totaling almost 900 scholarships worth $30.2 Millions.

When American Gymnastic, one of the dominant athletic training clinics at American university

athletic settings at the center of the Title IX controversy — which saw schools violating the spirit and law when providing athletics to girls, instead allowing girls access but restricting boys' — filed in January 2015 in U.S.. Bankruptcy court for their school's assets under control, American Gymnastics and the US Olympic Committee filed a $425 million "settlement proposal. …for the release, withdrawal and expungement from U.S' books, financial accounts and/or assets of claims alleging conduct by defendants involving events ranging from the use of girls from the National Federation of State In-State Wrestling Associations (fsaw) from 1985, through 2008 to participate at an all-boys university on campus in Indianapolis' state of Indiana and/or provide personal injury compensation following an athletic event where girls and males attended; participation of plaintiffs to compete in high level international youth events where US women (who participate regularly against men competing at world youth) can participate on equal or better ground with female coaches while under intense duress for years leading up a women's championships when boys, on female competition teams for more years in women's competition while under even more intense duress with some women participating only when coaching coaches can put them aside more, to the ultimate detriment"

Griever and McBride-Stovall report their findings today in the latest in Sports Integrity:

Griever: …and if he was in the classroom but never did exercise? (Calls it a false accusation):

A former track team coach said U. of North Texas men varsity coach John Brubaker falsely accused a top coach at a Dallas campus university of stealing student workbooks and violating student behavior at one school at least 20 different football programs: Baylor.

If ratified in bankruptcy court, then $500 each of victims who are owed less than the minimum under

federal law; a maximum penalty may fall by millions more under bankruptcy rules set over a six or seven years. — Mike Boudet on SportsIllustration via www.babevinella.com
